Chalambar golfers embrace Christmas spirit

A large field gathered from district clubs gathered for the annual Ladies Christmas Ambrose on Wednesday.  

In total, 63 players took to the course in beautiful conditions, many dressing in the Christmas theme, creating a festive atmosphere.

The Stawell combination of Tania Dignan, Jill McInerney and Joan Fletcher were the best team on the day.  

Playing with a combined handicap of 59, their 72 off the stick resulted in a nett score of 62⅙.

Runners up were Ruth Gellert, Heather Fleming and Brenda Richardson with 78-14⅔- 63⅓.

Saturday’s Stableford was taken out by Penny Brown with 35 points, one point clear of Chris Hurstfield.  

Nearest the pin was awarded to Gayle Dadswell.

On Monday, a good field of 20 players competed in a nine hole Stableford.  

Ladies’ captain Helen Tucker came in at the head of the field with 22 points.  

Runner up Marg Lardner finished with 20 while Rene Hamilton won nearest the pin.
