The team played against Terang and Mildura, losing both before beating Warracknabeal 29-16.
Going into the final game against Mildura 3, they started off well, but got into some foul trouble early and eventually lost 13-26.
The under-14 boys team had a strong 12-point win again the Warracknabeal Wildcats to start off the weekend but struggled to continue the momentum, losing narrowly to Mildura, Terang and Horsham.
The under-16 Red boys had another successful weekend, winning all their preliminary games to earn a spot in the Grand Final.
The team had convincing wins beating Mildura Heat three and also Colac Kookas White on Saturday.
The boys had much stronger opposition on the Sunday, beating arch rivals Terang 45-37 and then Mildura Heat two 37-31 giving them top spot and an automatic qualification into the Grand Final but Mildura was able to reverse the result, as the Ararat team lost 39-46.
The under-14 girls had a great start to the tournament with a huge improvement against Warrnambool .
Overall a big improvement with lots to work still to do at training.
After winning the division three tournament at Warrnambool, the under-12 boys moved up a division.
The first game against Terang was a sign of what to expect and the boys went down 24-42 but bounced back in the second game against Colac to win 35-15.
On Sunday they had a convincing win against Mildura, winning 42 to 4 to qualify for their second consecutive decider but lost to Terang 19-23.
After falling one point short of a grand final victory in Warrnambool, the under-16 girls team was determined to make amends in Horsham.
In the first game, an early lead was blown against Mildura and in the second half it turned in to an extremely close encounter, as Ararat lost by four points.
The second game saw a rivalry renewed, as Ararat beat Stawell comfortably.
On Sunday, our final regular game was played and won against Terang, meaning we would again play against Terang in the semi-final which Ararat won.
It set up a grand final against Mildura with the Redbacks having just six players available. Despite the small bench, Ararat managed to win the decider by nine points.
