While the pool has been closed over winter, the pool committee and Ararat Rural City Council have been busy.
There is now more shaded areas at the pool with a new frog sculpture for toddlers in the splash pad area and the Astro Turf installation has been competed.
A state government grant for 2017-18 will see more improvements.
Pool blankets will help the water temperature remain more comfortable and should allow the outdoor pool’s season to last longer through next year.
The installation of a new water slide has taken longer than expected but the pool has taken advantage of an opportunity to secure a longer slide when the upgrade is complete.
While the slide will not be ready for the start of the season, the original 28-metre slide plan has been replaced with a 38m design.
Season tickets will go on sale from November 27 at Ararat Fitness Centre in High Street.
Ararat Outdoor Olympic Pool re-opened in late 2016 and held its first swim meet after almost five years of continuous closure
