Horsham’s The Dancers Zone presented two shows as part of its end of year concert at the Horsham Town Hall.
Principal instructor Lynne McKenzie said it was a sensational day.
“The concert went really well – when doing a live performance anything can happen, but it all ran smoothly,” she said. “All the students had a ball.”
The school’s babyballet class performed for the first time at the concert.
“They were so gorgeous – one little one was about to run off stage before we started, but I scooped her up and put her back on,” Ms McKenzie said.
“She ended up doing the whole routine with a big smile on her face.”
The school also presented two scholarships at the concert.
Taya Quick-Whelan won the encouragement scholarship and Allison Pannan won the outstanding student scholarship.
Ms McKenzie said the encouragement award went to someone who was not necessarily the best dancer, but who showed dedication and commitment to classes every week.
She said the outstanding student award went to a student who pushed themselves outside their comfort zone to achieve new goals.
“Both scholarships are also based on attendance, wearing correct uniform, attitude and dedication in classes, and attitude towards teachers, assistants and other students,” she said.
