HALLS Gap police and emergency services will renew a search for St Kilda’s Gerald VanDerWerf in the Grampians National Park this week.
Sergeant Karen Bain said a search and rescue operation would run from Monday to Tuesday in the region.
She said cadaver dogs would be part of the search for the first time.
Mr VanDerWerf has been missing since September last year.
At the time police held concerns for his welfare as he had a medical condition.
On September 23, 2016, at 10am, Mr VanDerWerf checked out of a Stawell motel.
Four hours later, a reliable witness claims to have seen him walking on Grampians Road, 10 to 12 kilometres south of Borough Huts.
That was the last time anyone saw him.
Earlier this year, former Halls Gap Sergeant Scott Olsen said he believed Mr VanDerWerf was still in the Grampians National Park and was deceased.
