Host co-ordinator Jenny Reid said the games had been fabulous despite some trouble with the weather conditions during the week.
“We had a couple of minor issues but it wasn’t anything we couldn’t overcome,” she said.
“The athletes quickly adapted once we had to swap the days over and there was no grizzles because they just wanted to get on with it.”
Persistent and heavy rain on Thursday saw athletes compete in indoor sports a day earlier than scheduled.
The wet weather hung around for the postponed track and field competition the following day but all involved continued to give it their all.
“When we were out in the rain on Friday there was no complaints at all,” Reid said.
“They were just happy to be there, getting an opportunity to perform.” Next year’s event will be at Semaphore and Port Adelaide.
