The Australian Match Rifle Team that will be competing at Bisley in England in 2019 practiced at the Stawell rifle range on Wednesday, November 8 before the competition got underway.
The Victorian championships began on Thursday, November 8 with the national competition kicking off on the Friday.
38 of Australia’s best long range shooters from Queensland, Tasmania, South Australia and Victoria competed in the event which ran until Tuesday, November 14.
Shooters came from as far north as Rockhampton in Queensland and as far south as Launceston in Tasmania.

It was a clean sweep for Victoria in the team events, winning all possible competitions.
The competition was shot over 1000, 1100 and 1200 yards.
Championship organiser Lew Horwood said the event is not just beneficial for the sport but also for Stawell as a town.
“It is a valuable event because it brings a lot of tourists,” he said. “The shooters and their families come and holiday and stay here which is great for the town.”
Horwood said Stawell’s facilities makes the venue attractive for future championships.
“All the shooters love coming to Stawell and enjoy shooting here,” he said.
