Ararat Police have compiled some community information bags that will be distributed at the drivers briefing on the Saturday morning at the hill climb, which contains information for families about road safety, police careers, legal information, mental health, motorsport, and vehicle safety.
Some of the winners of passenger laps announced after the June hill climb will also be offered the chance to have their ride during parade laps at this hill climb.
Since Beat the Heat last saw Smokey Three in action at the June hill climb, the team has been to Heathcote for Marsh Rodders Drag Racing Fun day in August and the Wimmera Eighth Mile Championships at Warracknabeal in October.
Sergeqant Chamberlain was a B Class winner at Warracknabeal.
Beat the Heat has also been to Holdens of Age Show and Shine in Halls Gap in October and will be at Horsham Northfest on Saturday.
Ararat Tyre and Auto and Ararat Automotive and Ag have assisted Beat the Heat with servicing and repairs on Smokey Three, Smokey Five and Smokey Six.
Grampians Grease Monkeys in collaboration with Ballarat Road Rodders and Marsh Rodders ran a hot rod cruise in October from Ararat to Bacchus Marsh to raise funds for the Beat the Heat program, and Holdens Of Age Car Club have offered to make a donation from their Halls Gap Show and Shine event.
Ararat RSL also provided a small grant to assist with petrol costs for the cars to run at events.
