Daniel Andrews recent push at a go it alone Victorian Renewable Energy Target of 40 per cent by 2025 will drive up prices even further and hurt the most vulnerable members of our community.

I will not support any bill that makes it harder for our community to pay their power bill, local families are hurting financially, and they need our support.

Our opposition to this goes hand in hand with our new onshore gas policy.

A Liberal state government will permit onshore conventional gas exploration and production in Victoria on a case-by-case basis while maintaining the current ban on fracking.

This policy will help put the brakes on soaring gas prices that are currently hurting Victorian households and businesses.

Local landowners with gas under their land gain access to a 10 per cent slice of the royalties paid to the government.

Landowners will be empowered with the right to say no to any gas exploration or production on their property.

The Liberals policy will provide cheaper gas, while also protecting our environment and farmland.
