Philip shines on golf course

The four ball best ball stroke event was won by Sailly Philip and Ballarat’s Jill Heinze at Chalambar Gold Club on Friday.

Philip was playing off a handicap of 18 while Heinze was playing off 12.

Runners-up on a countback were Susan Shorten and Leonie Roden from Ballarat. 

The best Senior pair was Chalambar’s Lyn Thomas and Mary Bruce who teamed up for success.  

The ladies enjoyed glorious conditions on course for the stableford event with Philip making it two from two with an A Grade win on Wednesday. 

The experienced Philip played the conditions well to win convincingly with an impressive 39 points. 

The runner-up was Alwyn Kitchen on a countback from Barb Gow and Nola Mahoney who all finished with 34 points after 18 holes. 

Nearest the pins were awarded to Rene Hamilton, Gayle Dadswell and Philip across the round.

The ladies will return to the course on Wednesday for their next event at the golf club.
