Our dog Buster found himself dressed in a crocheted baby bonnet being pushed about in a dolls’ pram wearing a very confused look on his face yesterday.

So, no one can say that we don’t know how to have school holiday fun at our place!
Why, only just last night while 15-year-old Katianna was at work, 13-year-old Yasinta and her 11-year-old sister Tiani stuffed balloons up their jumpers and pranced about pretending to be overweight exercise queens with heavy lisps.
These lovely ladies seemed oblivious to the irony of their prominent puffed-up bellies as they performed inappropriate exotic dance moves and stretches for their workout DVD.
You just can’t fit that kind of ridiculous fun into your day during school term.
Don’t worry, some pretty serious projects were still completed though, as the girls prepared a dozen items between them to exhibit at the show.
Our island bench became a temporary art studio for the creation of a painted glass jar, decorated shoe box and button-bordered photo frame.
The dining room was converted to a sewing room for production of a fabric doll, patchwork cushion and shoulder bag.
At the same time, the oven was running hot for the baking of cakes, slices and scones.
All this serious work still allowed time for a bungee game where a selection of gorgeous Barbie and Ken dolls leaped from our second storey to hover just above the slated entrance way at the bottom of the stairs.
They all survived.
Those vital ingredients of fresh air and sunshine necessary for good health were not ignored either, although Tiani got a little more exercise than she bargained for while gathering gumnuts down the back.
Yasinta happened to be watching through the glass sliding door as Tiani was swooped by a magpie which nearly became tangled in her hair.
On alerting the rest of the family to the unfolding drama, we all watched as a terrified Tiani ducked and ran.
Our baby completed her fastest ever 100-metre sprint with faithful Buster dashing along beside her, hair and fur streaming behind, into the safety of our arms.
Protective devotion like that from a dog definitely deserves pampering and parading about in a pram.
