Member for Wannon Dan Tehan will represent the federal government at the Invictus Games in Canada and the 100th anniversary commemorations of the Battle of Polygon Wood in Belgium this month.

In his role as Minister for Veterans’ Affairs and Defence Personnel, Mr Tehan will support the 43-member Australian team as they compete at the event in Toronto.
The event is an international, adaptive multi-sports competition for current and former military personnel who have been wounded, injured or became ill in service.
It includes more than 550 athletes from up to 17 nations competing in individual and team sports.
Mr Tehan will also deliver the welcome address at the service commemorating the 100th anniversary of the World War I battle of Polygon Wood in Belgium. Australia suffered more than 5700 moralities in the battle.
Mr Tehan will also pay his respects to Australia’s service men and women at a Last Post ceremony at the Menin Gate in Ypres and on visits to Tyne Cot Cemetery and Buttes New British Cemetery, all in Belgium.
He will also inspect progress on the Sir John Monash Centre at Villers-Bretonneux in France, on which Australia is spending $100 milllion.
