SMW Rovers have completed the perfect season, winning the reserves grand final by 38 points against Glenthompson-Dunkeld on Saturday.

The Bulldogs went into the game having not lost a game all year and it showed from the first bounce.

The minor premiers were able to build an early lead despite kicking into a slight wind and went into the first break with a five-point lead.

A four goals to two second quarter helped the Rovers extend their lead to 20 points at the main break.

The Bulldogs stepped it up in the second half with the Rams unable to match them on the scoreboard.

The Rovers piled on 10 goals in the second half to the Rams’ six to finish the season undefeated following the 18.4.112 to 11.8.74 victory.

Mark Ashmore topped the Bulldogs’ goal kicking with four majors while Alex McIntyre slotted three of his own in the season decider.

Tom Madden was awarded the medal for best on ground in the grand final victory.

The win ensured the Bulldogs remained undefeated for the 2017 season after they missed the finals in 2016.
