Country Fire Authority board member Lynda Hamilton officially handed over the New Moyston tanker 2 on August 20.
The new tanker has been funded by the Victorian Government “Volunteer Emergency Support Equipment Program” with funding contributions from the CFA and the Moyston Brigade.
The new four-wheel-drive tanker carries 1700 litres of water or foam, and allows the five-person crew to travel to and from fires in the cabin, which is a great improvement in safety and comfort for the brigade members.
As part of this upgrade, the previous Moyston tanker 2 was transferred to Dundonnell Brigade to replace an ageing community tanker.
Ms Hamilton also presented Second and Third National Medal Bars to Moyston member and Ararat Group Officer Max McLean and a CFA Honorary Life Membership to Moyston Captain David Coad.
