The function coincides with the Rats’ last home game of the season against the Stawell Warriors in the Battle of the Divide.
The Rats will be celebrating the 1957 first 18 football, 1977 A Grade netball and under-16 football, 1987 A Grade netball and second 18 football, 1997 A Grade netball and 2007 A Grade netball premierships.
The premierships are over a 50-year period
- Rod Mills
The club’s treasurer Rod Mills said it was important to acknowledge all their efforts as a club.
“We host a sponsors day each year and we are being more consistent with the past players day,” he said.
“We have a lot of people who might have played two or three years at the club, chance for them to come back and see people they may not have seen for a number of years.
“The premierships are over a 50-year period, so it reflects a huge variance of ages.”
Mills said the club has a strong history and was looking forward to the annual event.
“We will have some food for them and it is a chance to firstly reflect on the premierships while engaging with the past players and sponsors on that day,” he said.
“Because obviously the club cannot run without sponsorships.”
The club is expecting at least 100 people to attend with seven premiership teams recognised this year.
Mills said there are also some plans for after the game.
“A club dinner will follow the senior football match with everyone invited to stay around the for the roast at around 6pm with everyone,” he said.
