Holy Trinity Lutheran School’s three teams competed in the Bendigo HPV EEV Grand Prix at the weekend.
School teacher Matt McLoughlin said the year 7 team raced in a brand new vehicle at the event.
“They led all day and ended up winning by 17 laps,” he said.
“A lot of them were first time riders, so it was great to see how they pulled together.”
Mr McLoughlin said the year 8 and 9 team was also consistent throughout the day.
“They had some mechanical problems with only an hour to go, but they got back into it and won by four laps in the end,” he said.
“It was a great day.”
Mr McLoughlin said the school’s grade 5 and 6 team also competed for the first time and finished 10th.
“It was good track practice for everyone,” he said.
“We’ve still got some more training to do though and our year 10 team will go to Murray Bridge at the end of term to race.
“We’re also hoping to have another day out at Dimboola to give us some more practice.”
