Mrs Rohde said Operation Christmas Child opened up a world of life-changing opportunities for children.
“Each shoe box contains something for hygiene, school, to wear, to play with, to love and something special,” she said. “For most of these children, this would have been the first time they had ever received a gift.”
Ms Rohde said filled shoe boxes needed to be returned by mid October.
Brochures and pre-printed shoe boxes are available in Horsham at Cheap as Chips and Horsham Disposals.
They are also available in Edenhope at Melindari Fashions, at Nhill’s Cambrelles’, Kaniva’s Heartfelt, the Rainbow Newsagency, the Christian Bookshop in Warracknabeal, the HUB at Donald and at Beulah’s business centre.
Ms Rohde said people in Stawell could call Marie Mackie on 0400 700 730 and people in Ararat could call Peter Fleming on 0438 381 043 for more information.
