The Ararat Rats will eye off their third win of the season when they come up against Nhill on Saturday.

Both teams are locked on eight points with the Rats getting the home ground advantage in the round 14 match.

Rats coach Terry Keilar said the team is confident of a good performance against the Tigers.

“We are looking at it as a real chance for a win,” he said.

“We played some good footy against them earlier this season, so hopefully we can continue our form from the Saints game and get a win on Saturday.”

After a strong performance in round 13, Keilar said it was about continuing to work on the same things from previous weeks.

“We have been focusing on reinforcing the basic football stuff like applying pressure and supporting our team mates during the week,” he said.

“Having a full squad available gives the guys confidence and self belief while forcing them to play good footy to keep their spot in the team. “We will hopefully have Ryan Bates available and if he gets up, we will have a full squad to select from which is pleasing.”

Keilar said the team learned a lot from its match earlier in the season.

“They have some key talls who were really important, so we have to contain them,” he said.

“They also have some midfielders who are really strong around the ball which we need to focus on.” The first bounce is at 2.20pm at Alexandra Oval.
