THE Willaura Healthcare Auxiliary has committed $20,000 towards the redevelopment of the Parkland House Hostel.

The money was raised through events including the Willaura Healthcare Outdoor Market as well as a $5000 community grant obtained through the Willaura Lake Bolac Bendigo Bank.

The $20,000 commitment will be put towards new furniture and furnishings for Parkland House, an aged care facility at Willaura Healthcare.

Works are currently taking place to open up the dining/activities area to improve access and enjoyment, including new furniture.

New carpet and wet area flooring will be installed throughout the facility, a new disabled toilet installed and other improvements in the hostel.

Willaura Healthcare Auxiliary president Judy Paterson said the group was delighted to see the progress.

“The Auxiliary, as well as residents and staff, were included in user group meetings and had input into the design and interior decorating aspects of the redevelopment,” she said.

“We are all looking forward to seeing the works completed and the residents enjoying their new surrounds.”
