When the two sides met in round three, it was the Lions who took the points in a narrow victory.
But it was a different result at Ararat’s Alexandra Oval on Saturday, with Eagles getting up 10.6 (66) to 6.12 (48).
The match was fairly even for the first half, with neither team really able to gain an upper hand.
The Lions took a seven-point lead into the main break.
The third quarter is where it all started to come together for the Eagles, as they booted six goals and restricted the Lions to a point.
The reverse happened in the final quarter and the Eagles only kicked a point. The Lions had opportunities but were wasteful, booting 1.7.
Zachary Jenkins and Jesse Hutchins were among the best for the Eagles, with the latter kicking two goals.
Patrick Bell was the best player for the Lions.
