Over the past few weeks, there has been some people who have and are currently batting medical issues and the way the Ararat and Stawell communities have rallied around the families involved has been amazing.

In times when you can feel like the weight of the situation is getting to much, that is when help is most needed and there is no shame in asking.
Stawell’s Matilda Rowden has been a beacon of hope for the town after continuing her fight against leukemia despite being at the tender age of six years old.
In rural towns, the six degrees of separation rule is non-existent, as it seems to be far less in places like Ararat and Stawell.
Word spreads quickly and when people are facing personal battles, it is pleasing to see others step up and give them a helping hand.
There are talks already underway at the football club regarding the possibility of some fundraising events to assist the Vanderwaal team with both John and his wife unable to work at the moment.
Many people say that in times of hardship, football clubs are the best place to be.
That may be true along with small rural communities who help others in need like we have in this region.
While the financial stress can be overwhelming, sometimes a simple conversation or a shoulder to cry on can be just as important.
We all have our own health issues at different times but it usually strikes unexpectedly which throws lives into chaos and uncertainty.
The calmness that others can provide is invaluable in stressful situations and is undervalued at times.
With other people likely to be battling their own issues, sometimes on their own or with little support, it is important to remember that it is not a sign of weakness to reach out for assistance.
