AutoPro got in by a single game after a slow start.
Andy Kalluri and Phil Hartwich were surprisingly fast out of the blocks, winning their first set 8-4.
However, Frank Mitchell struck back, winning two well-fought sets for the AutoPro team.
Ed Bush led Signtek to a six-game win over the Medical Clinic.
Signtek won four sets, then drew the remaining two.
Last season's premier, ChemMart, continued its good form to win 48-24 over AME.
Rob Richardson won two sets for AME, but Ryan Weppner was dominant for ChemMart.
In the match up at school, Carey Covers was too strong for Bendigo Bank.
Shannon McGrath played better as the night wore on, playing aggressive volleys as he approached the net.
Eleven teams have lined up for this wintry comp, well up on the average for this time of year.
