Minyip-Murtoa
THE Burras find themselves in a familiar position after leading the league for a majority of the 2016 season, but the side is hungry to go one better this year.

After strong early season form the side hit a rough patch after defeating the Demons in round six. The side has managed to keep out wins despite a drop in form. Coach Damian Cameron will want his side back at its best before finals.
Horsham Demons
A BOLSTERED Demons squad has marched up the ladder this season and looks set to contest for another flag.
Coach Louie Dalziel continues to test his players out across the ground as carefully plans his finals assault. Joel Geue is on song to lead the league’s goalkicking while Simon Hobbs enjoys strong form and Deek Roberts has impressed in his first season. The return of Billy Lloyd only strengthens the club further.
Warrack Eagles
WHILE the top-two sides base their dominance on defence it is varied forward line that has seen the Warrack Eagles rise up this season.
Josh Bibby has surprised working in tandem with Jesse Murphy as coach Ryan McKenzie continues to provide strong leadership. With Shannon Argall set to return ahead of finals the Eagles seem most likely to challenge.
Stawell
AT THE start of the season all the talk was about how much Stawell would challenge in 2017. Ten rounds in the side has yet to live up to that potential largely because of injury setbacks.
Just like the Eagles the Warriors have a strong forward line capable of stretching the best defence, but the biggest question remains as to whether the club’s best side can be put on the park.
Horsham Saints
THE loss of key premiership players has led to a young side falling right back to the pack this season. Without the presences of strong targets in its forward line the side will need to fight hard just to make finals.
Nhill Tigers
FOR much of the season Nhill has been thereabouts but not good enough. Billy Hayes has been vital for the side while Callan Semple, Jake Harrap and Daniel Batson have been the main avenues to goal.
The side still has the potential to play finals with two key games against the Horsham Saints remaining.
Ararat Rats
TOO often the Rats have been blown out early. Can be good for patches of the games but are a young side that struggled to put together a consistent four quarters.
Dimboola Roos
A PATCH of good form mid-season was quickly forgotten when the cellar-dweller was thumped by Ararat in round 10. Have six rounds to notch a first win.
