The Rats’ 71-44 victory was played indoors after Alexandra Oval was deemed unplayable at the start of the day.
Ararat co-coach Lauren Armstrong said the move did not affect her team.
“We were focused on the game and making sure we came away with a win,” she said.
The Rats made a statement in the first quarter, coming out and scoring 23 goals to Stawell’s five to end Stawell’s hopes of its first A Grade victory of 2017.
Rhi Davis was solid in front of goal, shooting 47-goals as one of Ararat’s best players for the day.
Jemma Clarkson fought hard for the Warriors, shooting 31 of their 44 goals.
Armstrong said she was happy with the way her team approached the game.
“We set out to have a win and we are really happy that we did,” she said.
“We wanted to improve, which we have definitely done.”
Ararat experimented, moving players to different positions in each quarter.
“The team adjusted well to the challenge we set,” Armstrong said.
“It was good to try something different and come away with the win as well.”
Ararat moved to fifth on the Wimmera Netball Association ladder with the win.
