The Storm were without many of their first-choice senior players as injury forced an overhaul of the team. But the absences mattered little as the Storm defeated the Lakers to the tune of 255 points at Rainbow.
The Storm hit the ground running and had kicked 10 goals, to the Lakers’ no score, by quarter-time.
They went on to boot 39 goals, 28 behinds for the day.
Fifteen players contributed to the Storm’s score tally – Ben Warren and Ash Clugston with eight apiece while Tom Clugston and Rory O’Halloran added four majors each.
Jakob Cocks, Shane Maslin and Ash Clugston shone bright for the home side.
Jack McRae and Trae Martin stood gallant in defeat for the visitors while Connor Healy scored their goal, which came in the second quarter.
