Wickliffe-Lake Bolac is a heavy favourite to extend its winning streak when the Magpies host the Ararat Eagles in round 10 action on Saturday.

The Magpies sit in third spot on the ladder and have started to string some wins together in the past two rounds.

The Eagles have continued to show improvement this season but have struggled to maintain a four quarter effort in most games.

The visitors will need to do that at the weekend if they are to cause an upset and grab the points at Lake Bolac Recreation Reserve.

Both teams have a lot at stake with the Eagles now sitting at the bottom of the ladder while the Magpies need to win to maintain third position, so a physical match will be expected, particularly early on.

The Magpies have been potent up forward and the Eagles’ defenders will need to work together to restrict the Magpies’ scoring if the Eagles are to pick up their second win of the season.
