Bonnie Mellor, Annie
What three words best sums up this production of Annie?
Musical, orphans, fun.
What is your favourite song in the show and why?
‘Tomorrow’ because it tells you to be bright and happy about the future.
In your opinion, why should people get involved with the Horsham Arts Council?
They do fantastic productions. They are a lot of fun.
Why should people come along and see the show?
People will be amazed at our performance.
Claudia Lopez O’Donnell, Annie
I play Annie. She’s tough but she’s also soft-hearted with a lot of love to give. She never stops believing in herself and that things will turn out alright.
What three words best sums up this production of Annie?
Creative, ambitious, enthusiastic.
What is your favourite song in the show, and why?
My favourite song is ‘Tomorrow’ because it shows that Annie’s light is not going to stop shining, even when things are going badly.
In your opinion, why should people get involved with the Horsham Arts Council?
It’s a lot of fun. All the grown-ups are really nice. I’m learning a lot about being on-stage, and I’ve made new friends. Bonnie Mellor is great to hang out and laugh with. We are really sharing the experience.
Why should people come along and see the show?
The show is great. It’s about friendship, love, believing in yourself and making your own destiny.
Larissa Riddell, Miss Hannigan
What three words best sum up this production of Annie?
Friendly, familiar, fun.
What is your favourite song in the show, and why?
I have two! ‘Easy Street’ and ‘Hooverville’. As a kid, I’d repeatedly watch the ‘Easy Street’ scene from the 1982 movie. I just loved Carol Burnett, Tim Curry and Bernadette Peters in the roles of Hannigan, Rooster and Lily, and I still love the song. ‘Hooverville’ isn’t in the movie, but it sums up perfectly life in 1933 America.
In your opinion, why should people get involved with the Horsham Arts Council?
Step out of your comfort zone and try something new! Whether you try your hand at acting, singing, dancing, set construction, costuming, or stage crew, you’ll learn so much about yourself and what you can actually do. Better still, you’ll be working with, and meeting, new people who are doing exactly the same.
Why should people come along and see the show?
Let’s just throw in that age-old cliché – “It’s fun for the whole family!”
Simon Dandy, Oliver Warbucks and executive producer
What three words best sums up this production of Annie?
Clever, fun, and heart-warming.
What is your favourite song in the show and why?
‘I Don’t Need Anything But You’. The dancers are fantastic, the ensemble sings beautifully and Annie looks gorgeous in her beautiful red dress. I think it is a highlight of the show.
In your opinion, why should people get involved with the Horsham Arts Council?
‘Why not?’ I ask. You get to meet so many people from different walks of life. You become part of a family that is working together to create some amazing experiences that last a lifetime. Whether off- or on-stage, you can be involved in some way. If it is on your bucket list, just come and give it a go. You will not regret it.
Why should people come along and see the show?
Annie is one of those productions that the whole family can enjoy. It never gets old. Emily and her team have created a fantastic production, the local talent continues to amaze everyone, and you will fall in love with Annie and the orphan girls. They are just fantastic. Get in early, buy your tickets, sit back and enjoy.

Why should people come along and see the show?
It's a great way to see some very talented Wimmera people perform, and watch some new talent bloom. Plus, you get to have a great night out in a world-class venue at a very reasonable price. Bet your bottom dollar, you'll love it.

Funny, endearing (characters), awesome (music).
What is your favourite song in the show and why?
‘Fully Dressed’ fits into a part of the show I really like, where Warbucks puts out a reward to find Annie’s parents. It’s set in a radio station and is a very entertaining section of the show. It is well executed by the cast. The song has a few levels for me. It has a number of tempo changes, giving it depth that meshes well with the scene. I also love and assimilate with the catch phrase ‘you’re never fully dressed without a SMILE’. On a personal level, I enjoy playing this song as the banjo gives the song a great feel.
