Event coordinator Tricia Ruthven said the Park Run was a huge success.
“We had a great turnout and everyone loved the picturesque course of Alexandra Gardens,” she said.
“The benefits of running are proven, it’s a great way to keep fit and maintain a healthy lifestyle.”
The event was one of more than 200 similar events occurring at every weekend around Australia, with hundreds in 13 other countries around the world.
Ararat Rural City Council mayor Paul Hooper cut the ribbon to officially launch the event and to welcome Ararat Park Run to the Australian and global park run family.
