On Friday Ms Daly was awarded a Yarriambiack Council youth award for her achievements in health and well-being.
Councillors Helen Ballentine and Shane Roberts presented presented the award on behalf of the shire’s Youth Action Council and the Victorian Government.
Ms Daly, a nurse at Rural Northwest Health, said she was humbled be recognised.
“It was surprising and flattering to receive this award because our shire has many great young people who are achieving wonderful things,” she said.
“I’d doubt any of us do what we do to win awards but it’s great to be recognised.
“I love my job at the Hopetoun campus so this is icing on the cake.”
Last year Ms Daly was recognised by the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation for her achievements as a student nurse.
She received a certificate and $200 cheque from the federation for winning the 2016 Student Nurse Award at the Sunraysia Institute of Tafe.
