It was a fitting result that the two teams that contested such a close grand final dominated the divisions’ top end of season honours.
Sproule took out the statistically based Allan McCrae Medal as well as the man of the match award that is decided by votes.
In each category he beat out Josh Colbert.
In the McCrae medal he held a 15-point buffer and he finished three votes clear in the man of the match award.
Sproule scored 265 runs at an average of 29.44 during the regular season. His wicket tally reached 21 at an average of 14.76 and he also chimed in eight catches.
During his medal acceptance speech he said he was honoured to win the award but would have preferred a different medal around his neck.
The B Grade bowling average award was won by Liam Jakobi.
His 20 wickets in 10 matches at 9.35 runs a piece put him ahead of all his opposition.
He was part the Colts attack that spearheaded the team during a dominant season and eventually to the title on Sunday.
Teammate Dean Arnott won the batting average award.
During the regular season he scored 210 runs in 7 innings but his average was boosted to 70 by finishing not out in four of those innings.
It often fell to Arnott to play a steady hand in the lower middle order after his side lost early wickets.
His season was highlighted by an unbeaten 86 he scored against the Saints in the final round of the season after coming in at number seven.
