Lachlan Kyle King, 22, appeared in Horsham Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday and pleaded guilty to the charge.
The court heard that on November 24 at 12.15pm, King was driving on Dooen Road, Horsham.
Police intercepted King and noticed his P-plate on the rear of his van was not visible because of heavy graphic sign on the back window.
The P-plate at the front of the car was lying flat on the dashboard.
Magistrate Mark Stratmann said it was important that P-plates were displayed clearly.
“You need to be careful because it’s very important for other drivers to see what your status is because it changes how they drive,” he said.
Mr Stratmann encouraged King to get magnetic plates instead.
He fined King $155 without conviction.
