Cr David Grimble pointed to a section of a Telangatuk East-Rocklands Road and Clear Lake-Sherwoods Dam Road repairs report.
“It talks about extra funds necessary for this project will need to be taken from savings in other road projects or by reducing the standard of works in rural areas,” Cr Grimble said.
“Certainly, I think that would be a little bit challenging given some of our rural roads and the issues that ratepayers raise.
“I think it was to be well balanced and look for savings across all road projects, and being careful when reducing standard for works on rural roads if that needs to be the case.”
Technical services director John Martin Martin said savings could also be found in urban roadworks.
“There’s no bias. It will be closely reported to councillors,” Mr Martin said.
