THE annual Horsham fishing competition is a little over a week away and the number of entries so far received are well up on last year according to event coordinator Angela Watson.

“Things are looking extremely positive at this stage,” she
“We have over 1000 entries at this point which is significantly up on this point last year.
“The river is also looking beautiful and the we’ve been told the fish have been biting.”
The winner of this year’s major prize will take home their choice of a Jayco Swift Outback caravan, a Kia Cerato Hatch or a build your own boating package.
All three prizes are valued at $22,000.
Along with the major prize there is several prizes for the different categories ans sections.
Watson said people were being encouraged to register as early as possible before the March 12 competition.
Registration can be done online at horshamfishingcomp.com.au or in person at Horsham Apex Shed at the weekend or between 12 and 6pm on weekdays. The cost for each section is:
- Senior entrants – $50
- Junior entrants – $15
- Tiddler entrants – $5
