The squad have had some trial matches prior to the season starting next month.
AFL Victoria talent manager Phil Partington said it has been a positive preseason for the team.
"We have been back with the youth girls academy program,” he said.
“All the girls have been enthusiastic with their learning and training once a week which has been good.”
The season will include four games with the team changed each game to give everyone a chance at that level.
Partington said it was important to try and build the chemistry within the team during trial matches.
"A lot of the girls have not played much football, so it is a learning curve for them,” he said.
"But it has been really good to see them develop their skills and enjoy their football.”
Many of the Storm players are returning after being involved in the squad during the 2016 season.
Georgia Clarke is one member of the squad who has been busy with football over the summer after taking part in the national women’s academy as well.
Clarke said the focus at the Rebels has been to try and increase her versatility by playing in different areas of the ground during games.
“I have been playing a few different positions in game so far,” she said.
“I started off in my usual centre half-back then got switched to centre half-forward and also spent some time in the ruck.
“I think it is just about seeing what positions come naturally and learn to adapt in different roles which will be a good thing for my football.”
The squad will remain at the current size for the four games from which the Victoria Country team will be picked from.
The Rebels will start their season in Learmonth against the Western Jets on Saturday March 18.
