Each year the annual event supports Uniting Care, which helps people in crisis.
St Andrew’s Church hall will host the event this year, which costs $7.50 for all you can eat pancakes.
The money raised will support the group’s programs for people living through homelessness, abusive relationships, addictions, financial hardship, illness or a sudden crisis.
Uniting Care Pancake Day organising committee member Philippa Hale said the people who benefited from the cash faced serious issues.
“Pancake Day is always a fun day for the community, but there are serious issues that underpin it,” she said..
“We are proud to support the work of Uniting Care and call on everyone in our community to enjoy unlimited pancakes and get behind this fantastic cause.”
One in seven Australians lives in poverty, with one in six children affected.
It means about 2.9 million Australians live in poverty.
Organising committee member Carole McGregor said there would be more than just pancakes for those who attend the St Andrew’s breakfast fundraiser on March 3.
“As in recent years, the church hall where we serve pancakes will also house a display,” she said. “The theme this year is memories.
“We would love to share our memories with you.
“Members of the church congregation are displaying articles of some significance to them which bring back memories.
“When you come to enjoy a morning tea of pancakes, do come and visit our display.”
