The foundation pledged $50,000 each year over a five-year period to assist with the building of the new centre.
“The foundation has contributed $135,000 to the project and is delighted to be involved,” foundation chair Don Johns said.
“The Wimmera Cancer Centre project is the most important project for the Wimmera and surrounding districts and it’s been an outstanding achievement by the community in raising over $1.1 million, with fundraising still continuing.”
Dr Johns said the foundation was in a strong position, only using interest from capital investments to assist projects at both Horsham and Dimboola campuses of the Wimmera Health Care Group.
