A truck driver has escaped unscathed after his Stawell-bound vehicle hit a culvert on the side of the Western Highway and flipped near Ararat on Thursday morning.
Police and ambulance officers attended the scene as traffic was reduced to one lane in both directions for four hours from 8.15am.
The light truck was travelling towards Stawell when it hit a culvert, which caused the driver to cross the road and hit a fence on the other side.
No one was hurt in the incident and the driver, from Melbourne, assisted police with their investigation into what caused the crash.
Northern Grampians highway patrol Leading Senior Constable Anthony Passalick said police were appealing for any witnesses to the incident.
“We are making further inquiries in regards to the cause off the crash,” he said.
“If there are any witnesses they can call Ararat Police Station on 5355 1500.”
State Emergency Service Duty Officer Geoff Dunmore said the man was free of the truck when they arrived
