The Ararat district resident is no stranger to the area after more than a decade teaching grades 3 to 6 during his time at Ararat Primary School.
Now he will take on his next challenge leading Maroona Primary.
It will include two days in the classroom each week.
Mr Beer said the tight-knit community had welcomed him to the town.
“It is very exciting, a great opportunity and a great community,” he said.
“They are helpful and absolutely have welcomed me.
Mr Beer will oversee Maroona’s 27 pupils.
There are 12 in the grade 3-6 class and 15 in the prep to grade 2 class.
