Blizzard won her heat and qualified for final where started off 12.25m to record the winning time of 7.50 seconds.
Blizzard said it was an unexpected win.
“I have not ran many gifts this season, I did the Bay Sheffield gift in Adelaide but had no idea what my mark would be when I entered in Ballarat,” she said.
“Ballarat has always been a really high quality event.
“Five of the eight finalists were girls which was a nice change as well.”
Blizzard also qualified for the final of the Women’s 120m gift and finished fifth off 4.25m.
After moving to Canberra two years ago for study, Blizzard continues to train, and returns to Victoria to compete when her schedule allows.
She will miss the Ararat Gift due to the National Athletics Championships being on the same weekend but will return for the region to compete in her seventh Stawell Gift in April.
