COUNTRY Fire Authority district 17 duty officer Neville Collins said an overheated oven prompted a firefighter call out to Horsham Woolworths on Friday.
Mr Collins said crews were called about 2pm after an oven in the bakery produced an error and overheated.
He said there were no flames but dry chemicals and water were needed to cool the oven down.
Mr Collins said the external temperature of the oven was very elevated and the oven itself along with a bit of roof space were charred.
Firefighters were also called to a false alarm at Wimmera Base Hospital about 2.30pm and responded to a number of small tree and scrub fires following Thursday night’s lightning.
Mr Collins said people should be mindful the fire danger period was still in force and and was likely to extend into April.

THE Country Fire Authority has attended an incident at Horsham's Woolworths supermarket on Friday afternoon.
Two fire trucks attended the scene just after 2pm.
It is believed the fire crews were called out to deal with an issue relating to ovens at the supermarket’s in-store bakery.
