Ararat Country Fire Authority operations manager Bernie Fradd said he urged residents to take care. 

“Please exercise caution around long grass and if you see something suspicious say something,” he said.

“The fire danger index will be high tomorrow and there will be no surprises if a total fire ban is called.”
