Horsham’s Carols by Candlelight will include family activities from 5.30pm and the main program will start at 7.30pm.
Organiser Simon Dandy said the night was a great way to start the Christmas season.
“From an entertainment perspective, I’ve heard the songs that will be performed by the singers and choirs and they are bloody good,” he said.
“Carols are a great way to kick off the Christmas season and get everyone in a festive mood.”
Each year the event supports a Wimmera charity, and this year, all money raised will go to the Rachael’s Wish.
Mr Dandy said while carols was a free event, people could still donate money for the cause.
“How much we raise is based on the crowd, but we often get anything from $2000 to $4000 and it’s all for a good cause,” he said.
“There will be people from the charity speaking on the night and collecting money.
“We will gladly accept any donation.” Santa will also make an appearance at the carols.
Mr Dandy said something special this year would be a fireworks display.
He said the event would feature all Wimmera musicians and performers.
“There are some people who have performed before and there are some new people involved,” he said.
“The choir has increased in size from about 20 singers to 35 to 40.”
The event will be at the soundshell and food and drinks will be available.
