Adoptable Pet Rescue co-founder Lynley Hoiles spoke to the pupils and said she was impressed with their knowledge of how to responsibly own a pet.
“The day was well received by the kids,” Ms Hoiles said.
The children hosted a parade for their pets and donated a hamper of pet food to Stawell’s Adoptable Pet Rescue.
“The day was a positive sign the next generation are going to be more proactive in the fight for animal welfare.”
Ms Hoiles said Adoptable wants more schools to help break the cycle of unwanted litters.
“It is an important issue and crucial to tell them while they are young.”
