The win meant Matthews won Ararat Hotel Monthly Medal ahead of Ken Mahney and Josh Matthews.
Matthews also got nearest the pin on the eighth hole followed by Rob Boyd on the ninth.
Consistent rain forced the cancellation of Saturday’s golf event.
Next Saturday’s event will be a stroke and handicap.
The club will host a two person 4BBB event on Sunday.
