Festival goers will have the opportunity to see nine hip hop acts on stage during the two-day event.
Organisers have included digital story telling, street art and graffiti and hair design workshops as part of festival’s schedule.
Professional hip hop acts such as T-Link, Rawthentic Records, KG and Crew and Pan-African Poets Cafe are just some of the acts that will perform.
The aim of the festival is to engage with people aged between 12 and 25, to give them a high level of teaching, guidance and mentoring from artists and industry professionals.
Ararat Performing Arts Centre’s Dianne Toulson said the festival aimed to capitalise on the strong dance culture in the city.
“It came out of conversations about what would interest youths in Ararat,” she said.
“It has grown to be quite a big festival, we are really hoping to engage youths.”
