Two teams from Ararat and a team each from Willaura, Tatyoon, Buangor and Moyston are taking part.
Ararat, Buangor and Moyston will all play their home games at Ararat City courts, while teams will travel to Willaura and Tatyoon for their home matches.
Despite Tatyoon having lost several of their stronger players to senior tennis, the team still gave Buangor a run for its money winning two of the four sets during the match.
Buangor put in a strong performance in the final set to win 6-1 and claim the match on games 21-15.
In the second match last season’s A Grade runners-up also had a struggle on their hands.
The first two sets went one each way with Willaura avoiding a tiebreaker after it won the first set 7-5 and Ararat Red winning a tiebreaker 7-6.
The second two sets both went to Willaura giving them and unassailable three sets to one lead and the overall points.
In the final match for the morning Moyston had their work cut out for them against the new Ararat team.
Despite several of the players only starting their tennis career, they played some quality tennis to take all four sets from Moyston.
