HORSHAM City Lions Club have taken the first step in the mammoth task of re-flooring their clubroom after September’s floods overran the building.

Membership chairman Bill Deleeuw said members were out in force on Friday to remove everything from the clubroom before council and workmen could inspect the flood damage.
The club had a fundraiser to assist with repair costs on Wednesday, selling egg and bacon rolls and steak sandwiches at Horsham Show’s horse events.
The barbecue raised $400 for the club, with some expenses to be deducted.
“We did reasonably well,” Mr Deleeuw said.
“We’re not sure how much repairs will cost yet as it’s a fairly large shed. We’re emptying it then council will come in, lift the carpet and put in a drain so the flooding doesn’t happen again.”
Mr Deleeuw said the flooding was very disappointing but the shed was insured through council, with the club to pay the excess.
“Every bit helps at the moment,” he said.
