Cash raised from the annual Ararat Hospital Charity Golf Day will help purchase new equipment for the department.
A new car will also be on offer once again for anyone skilled enough to score a hole-in-one.
Senior dentist Dr Dominic Barlow said the department currently requires endodontic instrumentation and obturation equipment.
“This type of equipment will allow us to save more natural teeth for patients with better and more reproducible long term prognoses,” Dr Barlow said.
“The aim of this is avoiding extractions and allowing patients to retain their natural teeth longer - and hopefully permanently.”
Kings Cars, Ace Radio and the Melbourne Parkview Hotel have signed as major sponsors for the charity golf day, with other Ararat businesses also offering a range of prizes for the spinning wheel.
Ararat King Cars’ Michael Smith said keen golfers and those who just like the occasional hit on a weekend should enter a team to help raise funds for equipment at East Grampians Health Service.
“We are once again thrilled to come on board as major sponsor of the Ararat Hospital Charity Golf Day,” Mr Smith said.
“As a business we believe supporting an organisation such as East Grampians Health Service, which is vital to this community, is extremely important.
“By entering a team in the golf day not only are you supporting East Grampians Health Service, but you have the chance to win some great prizes.
“That hole in one might be a rarity – but it’s not impossible – so anyone has the opportunity to take home a car.”
The event is a three person ambrose with teams limited to 33 in total.
Entry is $90 per team, which includes a barbecue lunch, afternoon tea and a free attempt on the spinning wheel.
A shotgun start at 11.30am will start the day’s competition while registrations will open from 11am.
Registrations and entry forms can be found at the Chalambar Golf Club or by calling the club 5352 4297.
The forms can be emailed to chalgolf@vic.chariot.net.au or posted to PO Box 108, Ararat 3377.
Entries close on Monday, October 10.
