The men raised $8300 for prostate cancer research in Australia. 

Organiser Jenni Papst said about 30 vintage motorbike riders took to the road as they left Horsham and rode a scenic route to Natimuk. 

In Natimuk the gentlemen stopped for a while, before making their way back to Horsham and finishing the ride at Glen Logan. 

Mrs Papst said that the ride was amazing. 

“It was a great result for Horsham again, we have been given recognition for most generous per rider,” she said. 

The Exchange Hotel also took part in supporting the cause and had a keg for a cause night on Friday. 

“They were fantastic with their support raising $320 of the $8300,” Mrs Papst said. 

Recognition also goes out to some of the higher money raises – Horsham’s Mick Harrison raised $2300, Natimuk’s Mick Payne raised $1735 and Horsham’s Ross Smith raised $1607. 

“It is getting bigger every year but there is also a small contingent that ride every time too,” Mrs Papst said. 

“The ride is about 60 kilometers.

“When we got back we had a light lunch at Glen Logan, which is a perfect venue for photos and hospitality.” 

Mrs Papst was not riding a vintage bike but rather, driving the pick-up car behind the group. 

“I was there to pick up all of the nuts and springs that would fall off of these older bikes,” she said. 

“Some men would spend the whole day before trying to get these beautiful pieces of machinery to work.” 

This was the third time Horsham has hosted the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride.
