“My uncle gave me a doggies jumper when I was five, at 41 years old, finally this is our year!!!” Mr Broad posed on Facebook on Saturday night.
Mr Broad accompanied his post with a picture of his TV, which was showing Bulldogs player Marcus Bontempelli embracing his teammates.
Mr Broad’s 36-year wait for a grand final was quickly topped by one of his Facebook fans, who nearly doubled the member of parliament’s dry period.
“More in common than I thought, go dogs, I've been waiting 62 years,” The user posted. Another said they were glad to have voted for Mr Broad.
As with Mr Broad’s political posts, the detractors were not far away with the nicest wishing a loss upon the dogs.
